Toronto, ON - Dome Productions, a full-service mobile production and distribution company, today announced that it plans to further secure its position as Canada’s leading provider of mobile production and distribution services by outfitting a new multi-format mobile truck, capable of supporting standard and high-definition (HD) productions. The truck, set to roll in April, will be the eighth truck in the Dome Productions fleet.

Dome Productions’ new multi-format truck will feature Thomson’s Grass Valley LDK 6000mk 11 WorldCam HD cameras, Grass Valley Kalypso. HD Video Production Center (capable of alternating between SD and HD productions), two Grass Valley Trinix. digital video routers (one each for SD and HD signals), a Concerto Series multi-format router to handle digital audio and a PVS 2000 Profile XP Media Platform HD server. The truck will also hold a Calrec Alpha 100 digital audio console (108 channels with 256 inputs) and a variety of tape formats, including D-5, HD DVCPro and HDCAM, to keep every possible client happy. In addition to the multi-format tape area, the truck will also house two EVS HD XT servers and three EVS HD maXS servers. Each piece of equipment supports the 1080i and 720p HD formats in traditional 4:3 or widescreen 16:9 aspect ratios.
"The equipment we have chosen will allow us to do virtually any kind of production, from normal mid-sized Standard Definition sporting events to the largest of HDTV entertainment shows, and have all the clients leaving happy with the feeling that the truck was purposely built just for their show,” said Curtis Skinner, Dome Productions Engineering Manager.
