Continuing to bolster its fleet of High Definition mobiles, Dome Productions has recently changed cameras on Horizon, its second HD truck that launched in April of 2005.

As Horizon geared up for coverage of the 2008 Master’s coverage, it was equipped with nine new Sony HDC-1500 cameras, the same type as is on Spirit, Dome’s latest HD mobile.

The new cameras function in both fibre or triax/fibre configurations, allowing for greater flexibility in event coverage. They are particularly useful for coverage of concerts or other entertainment events that frequently feature challenging lighting situations.

Horizon has also upgraded its EVS capability with the addition of a second six-channel EVS LSM system. The truck’s EVS complement now consists of two six-channel and two four-channel systems, all interconnected at XT2 high speed networking.

This capability will be especially useful for larger events such as the Master’s, where multiple, interconnected mobiles will be in use.
