We are proud to introduce the newest member of the Dome Productions mobile family… JOURNEY!
Debuting on the world stage in Montreal for the Women’s World Cup, Dome’s latest 53-foot marks a very exciting period at Dome Productions. Having just celebrated our 25th year, Journey represents more than just what Dome has accomplished in the past; “It is a journey preparing, designing, and building such a complicated facility” says Project Engineer Al Karloff. “Once we launch the truck, it embarks on another type of journey, covering high profile events all across North America. This year, we were on an aggressive timeline, and launching on a world stage event, so I had quite a journey of my own!”. And this is just the beginning for this new mobile. Journey broadcasts its first event today in Montreal with back-to-back soccer matches between Spain and Costa Rica and Brazil facing Korea Republic.
With a similar design to our previous mobiles, clients and operators will know what to expect when they walk into the new Green trailer – with a few distinguished exceptions. Journey has some notable upgrades, “This is the largest Evertz router we’ve put into a mobile – 288 x 186. A lot more de-embedding inputs and embedding outputs than before. We’ve also put in a brand new K-Frame switcher with 128 inputs. Journey is also wired for 12 x 12 channel EVSes”.
All of us here at Dome Productions are excited to have our 13th HD Mobile hit the road! As Mary Ellen Carlyle, our Senior Vice President and General Manager notes “Journey…appropriate as Dome finished it’s 25th year last year…It has be quite a Journey”. And we look forward to many more!
