Dome’s resume includes work with major worldwide broadcasters, leagues, production companies, government parties and other content creators, with a major emphasis on sports and entertainment.

Dome Productions is North America’s leading production and transmission facilities provider, jointly owned by Rogers Media and Bell Media.

Dome is very unique in its business approach and sets itself apart from others with its integration of primary business units of Mobile Facilities, Production, Host Broadcaster and Media Services, Travel and Transmission Services all under its corporate umbrella.

Dome provides Host Broadcast and Domestic production, engineering and transmission services to HBS, OBS, NHL, MLB, NBA, MLS, Amazon and Apple, for major sporting events both international and domestic.

Dome currently owns and operates a fleet of eighteen HD Production trucks, including eight 1080P trucks, and five 4K trucks.

Dome also owns seven B units including a purpose-built double expando that resembles a rolling IBC, three KU band uplink tractors, Wavelink, a state-of-the-art Ku production/uplink, capable of IP transmission, Remi Production contribution and backhaul, and Showcase, a Digital Media 4K virtual studio production mobile.

Dome provides end to end production, including producer, director, technical crew, and in some cases talent for a growing list of Live broadcasts – Professional Women’s Hockey League, Canadian Elite Basketball League, National Lacrosse League, Northern Super League Women’s soccer and WNBA Pre-season Canada series. All created and produced on-site or within a centralized fully managed remote technical workflow with cameras/audio being delivered to a Dome control room in Toronto via an IP Transport, fiber or satellite.

Dome recognizes the importance of keeping current with new technological advances, such as 4K, 1080p, IP and HDR.

Quick Facts

  • 1989: Dome Productions was formed with the opening of then named SkyDome, as the production and post-production arm of the John Labatt Limited Broadcast Group.
  • 2004: Rogers purchased 50% of the newly formed Dome Productions Partnership which is now 50% Bell Media/50% Rogers Media ownership with ESPN having a minority ownership stake in Dome Productions.
  • 2004: The first HD mobile was launched with 6 more to follow over the following 6 years.
  • 2004: Dome was awarded the 2004 Gemini Award for Outstanding Technical Achievement.
  • 2016: Dome became the first North American mobile truck vendor to launch a native 4K truck. Dome has facilitated live 4K broadcasts for TSN, Rogers Sportsnet and CTV, Woodbine Entertainment and DirecTV, putting Canada, and Dome, in the position of North American leader.
